How does this medication work? What will it do for me?
Triamcinolone belongs to the class of medications called corticosteroids. It is used to treat certain skin conditions, including psoriasis and allergic eczema. It may also be used to relieve itchiness of the vagina, anus, or ear. It acts by reducing inflammation of the skin.
Who should NOT take this medication?
Triamcinolone topical medications should not be used by anyone with:
- tuberculosis of the skin
- fungal or viral skin lesions
- herpes simplex
- chickenpox
- vaccinia
- an allergy to any of the ingredients of the medication
