Atacand® (Amias® / Candesartan Cilexetil) Use
Atacand® (Amias® / Candesartan Cilexetil) has been approved for once-daily treatment of hypertension. Atacand® (Amias® / Candesartan Cilexetil) belongs to a group of antihypertensive medications called angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARB) which represent the first new class of antihypertensive agents in the United States in more than a decade.
Atacand® (Amias® / Candesartan Cilexetil) Dosage
Follow the directions for using Atacand® (Amias® / Candesartan Cilexetil) provided by your doctor. This medicine may be taken on an empty stomach or with food.
Atacand® (Amias® / Candesartan Cilexetil) Side Effects
Adverse experiences that occurred in at least one percent of patients treated with Atacand® (Amias® / Candesartan Cilexetil) and at a higher incidence vs. placebo included back pain, dizziness, upper respiratory tract infection, pharyngitis, and rhinitis.
Precautions
Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to this medicine. Using this medicine alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. Before you begin taking any new medicine, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. Use of this medicine during pregnancy has resulted in fetal and newborn death. If you think you may be pregnant, contact your doctor immediately. It is unknown if Atacand® (Amias® / Candesartan Cilexetil) is excreted in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking Atacand® (Amias® / Candesartan Cilexetil). |
