This salts of betamethasone is available as single or in comnbination with antimicrobial agents for the treatment of various inflammatory dermatoses with or without secondary infections.
INDICATIONS: Serborrhoeic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, neurodermatitis anogenitial pruritus, psoriasis, inflammatory phase of xerosis.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Systemic fungal infections, hypersensitivity to betamethasone or any component.
SAFETY PROFILE: Do not use occlusive dressing on weeping or exudative lesions, discontinue if skin irriation or contact dermatitis should occur, do not use in patients with decreased skin circulation. Apply topical sparingly to area and gently rub in until it disappear, not for use on broken skin or in areas of infection, do not apply to face or inguinal areas.
ADVERSE EFFECTS: Dryness, irritation, papular rashes, burning, erythema, itching.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Effects are decreased barbiturates, phenytoin, rifampicin.
DOSAGE: Apply thin film 2-4 times a day. Therapy should be discontinued when control is achieved, if no improvement is seens, reassessment of diagnosis may be necessary. |
