DRUG CLASS
Bronchodilator (beta-2-adrenergic agonist)
DESCRIPTION
This drug relaxes smooth muscle by acting on beta-2 receptors found in the lungs to prevent constriction, enabling easier breathing with little effect on heart rate.
POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS
Chest paing (angina), irregular heart rhythm (atrial fibrillation), flushing, dizziness, low potassium levels, headache, lightheadedness, rash, serum blood levels increased, dry mouth, unusual taste, muscle cramps/weakness, cough.
FOOD INTERACTIONS
Limit caffeine intake
PREGNANCY AND BREAST-FEEDING CAUTIONS
FDA Pregnancy Rish Category C. It is not known if this drug is excreted in breast milk. Consult with your doctor prior to use during breast-feeding.
