Use
Zovirax cold sore cream can prevent cold sore infections from appearing and make them go away faster. Stress, colds and flu, UV rays, emotional upset and lots more other things can trigger a cold sore. The key is to get to them fast to stop them arriving.

Application
Apply Zovirax Cream 5 times daily, during normal waking hours for 5 days. Administration should commence as early as possible in the course of the outbreak.

Side effects
Burning, itching, mild pain, skin rash, stinging. Transient mild stinging immediately following application of Zovirax may occur in a small proportion of patients. Local irritation and inflammation.

Precautions
Avoid contact with eyes This cream is not suitable for application to mucous membranes such as inside the mouth, eye or vagina as it may be irritant. Wash hands before and after applying the cream and avoid touching the sore unnecessarily, with either hands or towels, to avoid spreading the infection. This medicine is not recommended for the treatment of infections in people with a decreased ability to fight disease (immunocompromised people, such as those with HIV). These people should consult their doctor concerning the treatment of infections.
